Phee Dance Video Works – December
At Home residency program
Supported by the Regional Centre for Culture
In residence 26/11 – 16/12
Phee Dance Video Works aims to reflect and respond to the familiar space of the Phee Broadway Theatre through the artistic forms of sound, physical movement and the digital image.
The residency process will develop unconventional ways of engaging with place, to create dance and sound improvisations. These improvisations will respond to the site of the Phee Broadway Theatre itself. The residency will culminate in two public showings of the video work accompanied by live excerpts of the original dance and sound (saxophone) score developed during the residency.
Audience members will be invited to view the works outcome, potentially adding layers of interpretation to the community’s understanding of the Phee Broadway Theatre. The community will be brought together to view the live performances which will ultimately expand on the possibilities of small scale dance/sound and video works that reflect a regional theatre building in an innovative way.
